A well-known domestic automobile manufacturing company, the existing network includes much more factories in various regions.
Through field research and data collection, it is found that the collaboration between various plants, research centers and headquarters becomes more and more close with the rapid development of enterprise, while the flow of data has undergone tremendous changes, with more than 80% of the data from factory, R&D center needs to be delivered across the plant for application. Meanwhile, restricted by the existing data room rack space, power capacity, heat dissipation and other negative factors, the plight which the newly constructed application system cannot be deployed in the computer room is frequently encountered.
Based on the careful combing of existing network operating condition and the elaborated summary of data flow under new interactive mode, the technology team of Rich Cloud Technology has been in cooperation with the planning, application, security, operation, infrastructure and other technical departments of the user to complete the overall research, planning, demonstration and finalization of technical proposal, and finally construct a new-generation high-performance, unified, integrated, and environmental-friendly data center platform.
The newly constructed data center brings many changes to the user, including:
- Provide support for high-performance network switching capability. Using 10GB TB interconnect, the core switching capacity of the whole network can reach high performance of more than 15TB.
- By using VPC technologies, the spanning tree (SPT) loops problem which had troubled the network operation for a long time can be eliminated, while the overall network throughput can be increased, making the network operate in a more safe, reliable and effective way.
- The network platform resource can change and allocate the hardware switching resources of device on demand, so that when the business changes, the devices can be recovered and re-distributed easily without being relocated in a complex manner or discarded simply. By using the virtualization technology (VDC) of Cisco Nexus7000 network platform, the utilization rate of device can be improved effectively and the operation cost can be reduced.
- The original network has a large number of devices, which makes it difficult to manage and maintain. The network device in a plant alone can be as many as about 200 units, while each device is a separate management plane which needs a lot of operation and maintenance personnel for maintenance. By adopting the new-generation data center network device Cisco Nexus7000/5000/2000 series switch, the original management plane of multiple levels can be simplified and integrated, so that the entire data center network only need to manage a few devices.(<20 units)
- Solve the power consumption and heat dissipation problem. The server and network devices are large in number, while the limited heat dissipation space, air conditioning and power capacity can only allow to place a few network devices, which necessitates the reduction of power consumption. By adopting Cisco new-generation data center network solution, the environmental-friendly and low-carbon network operation of data center can be achieved.
The new generation TB data center constructed by adopting the high-performance routing and switching platform of Cisco Nexus system improves the sustainability of overall business, while the operation of network becomes more stable and reliable, thus reducing the complexity of operational maintenance.
